The air filter ensures the carburetor does not take in any particles of dirt which can lead to poor engine performance and cause damage to the carburetor and the engine. It should be cleaned frequently and replaced in the event of servicing.
The PIAGGIO air filter for the SI 24.24 carburetor has additional air holes in addition to the main air correction jet and the idle jet. These so-called 'boost holes' ensure superior torque and are an ideal and decent upgrade for the SI 20:20 carburetor.
Conclusion: A solid replacement for original air filters that are worn out.
TECH-TIP: Clean the air filter on a regular basis with brake cleaner (part no 1423000) or air filter cleaner (part no 1424000). Do not forget the matching screws and carburetor box cover seal.
