This small but essential actuation lever is part of the mechanism that transmits the force applied to the handlebar clutch lever to the short push-rod to separate the clutch plates. It belongs to the group of components that should be replaced during every major engine overhaul.

This particular engine part caused a three-hour delay while it was being welded due to it unexpectedly failing during a SIP tour over the Gerlos mountain-pass, in Austria. Since this time-consuming incident we have had tougher versions produced and made sure that it has a permanent place reserved amongst the spare parts that we take with us on our numerous tours! The moral of the story? Never be caught out by an inch-long clutch lever!
