Clutch Cover SIP 3.0, Race
for Vespa PK50XL2/FL/HP/ PK125FL/XL2
- aluminum, CNC machined
- silver
- incl. bearing
The 3.0 Clutch Cover from SIP Performance is a plug & play fit for race clutches
Compared to the normal SIP XL2 Clutch Cover, the 3.0 has milled-out Bags on the inside. The largest tuning clutches available can also be fitted in these pockets without having to use a milling cutter or file.
The Clutch Covers of PIAGGIO's smallframe models share the fate of many of the manufacturer's discontinued products. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find XL2 covers in good condition on the used market. This is particularly painful, as it is precisely this cover that enables the installation of technically superior 6 Spring Clutches. SIP has risen to the challenge.
- Recessed inside for large and high race clutches
- High-quality CNC machined from forged aluminum
- Extremely clean and precise Clutch linkage
- Low actuation forces
- Highly precise and extensively tested
The SIP Clutch Covers 3.0 RACE for the Vespa PK XL2 are not only forged to a high standard, but also precisely machined and refined using CNC technology. The outer contour is reinforced and the interior is also cut out on the CNC milling machine for large and high clutches with up to 5 or 6 washers. The Clutch Arm Bearing, which is closed on one side, is integrated and enables extremely low actuating force. This Cap is compatible with almost all smallframes with manual transmission - a real upgrade, plug & play.
Meticulous measurements
The basic version 3.0 of the SIP Clutch Cover has been developed for the high demands of modern clutch systems, which require high spring forces. Comprehensive measurements of various installation situations were carried out to ensure compatibility with as many engine blocks, gearboxes, clutches, primary ratios and Clutch Baskets as possible.
A typical feature that was taken into account in the design is the sealing surface of the Crankcase, which is neither parallel nor perpendicular to the plane of the clutch release bearing. This can result in the pressure mushroom not being positioned centrally on the release bearing when the Cap is adjusted. As a result, the Clutch is actuated at an angle, which can lead to unclean disconnection or clutch judder when engaging. SIP Scootershop has therefore placed particular emphasis on the precise reproduction of the critical dimensions, including the angular difference between the sealing surface and the center line of the release mushroom.
The scope of delivery not only includes a Gasket, but also a detailed Installation Guide with troubleshooting tips.
Conclusion: Well Bearing, high-quality workmanship, ideal upgrade to finally be able to ride the better XL2 Clutch without any problems.

The 3.0 version of the SIP clutch cover is milled out in 2 places on the inside.
On the one hand, this provides more space for larger primary pinions on the crankshaft. On the other hand, larger clutches can be accommodated and the corners of plates with straight tabs no longer touch the cover ("BFA Race top Race clutch plates 24398440", "Fabbri Racing Race clutch plates 93956100"). These modifications have been incorporated in cooperation with Erich Oberpertinger Egig and ensure that the SIP cover can be installed with as little rework as possible, usually plug & play.
